Results

Results are displayed, explored and exported using the ‘Results’ tab.

Results charts will be automatically displayed when a rolling noise or external noise calculation has completed successfully. The data to be plotted is selected using the selection area to the left of the charts. By right-clicking on this area, it is possible to quickly select to view all data or none:

Above the charts, there is a selection menu which changes the display of the results to the following:

  • Linear spectrum, A-weighted totals
This will show unweighted dB values in the spectrum view, but all overall sound pressure levels (including the time plot and the contributions) will be A-weighted.
  • Linear spectrum, Linear totals
This will show unweighted dB values for the spectrum and overall sound pressure levels (including the time plot and the contributions).
  • A-weighted spectrum, A-weighted totals
This will show A-weighted dB values for the spectrum and overall sound pressure levels (including the time plot and the contributions).

    Viewing results

Train Noise Expert includes powerful tools to select, view and export data from your calculations.

    Rolling noise

The rolling noise results include calculated sound pressure levels, sound power levels, track decay rates and mobilities from the rolling noise calculations.

    External noise

The external noise results include a detailed spectrum and time-based plot for each model source and receiver, and an overview of the contributions of each source type to the overall noise level.

    Exporting data

Results data can be exported from the plots as graphics and/or data tables.
